1976 Com Stute, Inc., a U.S. corporation specializing in compilers, established Computer Institute of Japan, Ltd. (CIJ) in Yokohama as an independent company.
Began developing Operating System for Hitachi, Ltd.
1982 Established Kansai Branch Office.
1991 Selected as a business partner of NTT DATA Corporation.
1992 Established Hokkaido Branch Office.
1995 Established Tokyo Office.
1998 Acknowledged as the Authorized Java Center by Oracle Corporation Japan. Contributed to promoting the appropriate use of Java.
Established Chubu Branch Office.
1999 Established Kyushu Branch Office.
2000 Changed corporate name to the current CIJ.
Acquired ISO 9001 certification.
2001 Listed on the Japan Securities Dealers Association over-the-counter market.
2002 Listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
2004 Listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Acquired Privacy Mark.
2005 Made associated company Custanet Co., Ltd. a subsidiary.
Acquired ISO 14001 certification.
2008 Acquired ISO 27001 certification.
2010 Merged subsidiaries Nihon Koken Systems Co., Ltd., CIJ Sophia Co., Ltd. and Nihon Advanced System Co., Ltd. to establish CIJ Next Co., Ltd.
2011 Merged Kanazawa Software Co., Ltd. into subsidiary CIJ Next Co., Ltd.
2013 Obtained a patent (Japanese patent No. 5406957) for its "SONOBA COMET" product.
Contracted a bussiness alliance with the SYSCOM Group in Taiwan.
2015 Merged CIJ Managed System, Inc., CIJ BSC Co., Ltd. into subsidiary CIJ Next Co., Ltd.
2017 Merged CIJ Solutions, Ltd.
2019 Made Japan Financial Engineering, Ltd. a subsidiary.
2021 Obtained a patent (Japanese patent No. 6833966) for its "CREDIAL" product.
Merged Business Soft Service Co., Ltd.
Made a-LINK Corporation a subsidiary.
Launched “Acceleration of growth to 50th ~ (Accel50)”, CIJ’s 6th medium-term business plan.
2022 Head office relocated to Yokohama Gate Tower.
Listed on the Prime Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
2023 Made i-BRIDGE Group (i-BRIDGE Co., Ltd., i-BRIDGE Systems Philippines Inc.) a subsidiary.
Made Nissinsoftware Co., Ltd. a subsidiary.
